World-changing Asian women writers

I organized a roundtable discussion in ELECTRIC LITERATURE with writers I greatly admire—V.V. Ganeshananthan, Porochista Khakpour, Bich Minh Nguyen, and Esmé Weijun Wang—to talk about writing and politics. It's called "The Asian American Women Writers Who Are Going to Change the World." (Not my title, though I love it.)

The brilliant Alice Sola Kim was so generous as to interview me for PLAYBOY about a (NSFW) story I'd published there in the fall, "Safeword." Here's some amazing writing from Alice: a story in BUZZFEED, and an essay, also in BUZZFEED.

I was at MacDowell for a month-long artists' residency, and I finished a draft of my new novel; it needs a lot—a lot—and I mean a lot—more work, but still! Here's a picture of me saying goodbye to my beloved lunch basket.
